.:LCL:EXPLORER//: 2 days in Subic
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 11:23 AM on September 5, 2005

We waited for Steph for 2 hours. She brought along his cousin Franz and we left Manila at 5:30… pm. So you could imagine what time we would get to the old American naval base. There were 6 of us in the car; Me, Bonx, Don Don, Steph, Franz and Manong. The trip wasn’t as tedious as I thought. We joked around and shared some horror stories with each other.

There was this story by Steph about how those dogs who cross your car’s path at night we really mischievous spirits of the earth (I couldn’t translate engkato in English, I could call them enchanted beings but that would sound gay). Then out of nowhere this dog started to run across the road and it was dark and all so we all started to scream. Ok. I am scared easily but I don’t scream like a sissy girl but Don Don here screamed so I just followed them to make things fun. The problem was that Franz was German and he couldn’t understand why the hell we were shouting so we looked like a bunch of idiots shouting at a dog crossing the road.

We finally got to Subic and time was really fast. When we got to the house we were surprised because we had no neighbors to speak off and the houses were all empty. What ran through my mind was that my other friends were fooling around so we dared to enter the house. We went up and Steph was using me as a shield( I never thought that she was the kind to be a scardey cat). Don Don then shouts with a bit of apprehension

” Tignan niyo meron ditong malaking lumilipad.”

“Ulol” I said
“Meron nga”

“Sige titignan ko”

I went up the stairs thinking that my friend here was playing with us but when I looked up at the roof there was this big bird flying. It looked like a mutated Maya as big as a bat. I could only shout, “ Tangina meron nga” And we all ran down. To cut the story short we were hell afraid but we got our courage back and explored the lower part of the house. The inside was dim and we were really afraid in looking inside but as common sense dictates my friends were really playing with us.

They did a “ooh tago tayo tactic” but we were tired and all and weren’t that affected. J and her boyfriend Ralph, Jen, Sasa, E.J and Ronald all greeted our eyes. They were happy that we finally arrived and soon festivities were going to start. The inuman session was really long, extending into 4:00 am. Jen and Franz got 0.0 for falling Inuman101. But I was resilient and was able to be awake until 6:00 am. Yeah! And I didn’t get any hangover and amatz, I think I am resilient against alcohol. During that night we just drank, shared a few stories, sang in the top of our lungs and had a great time.

There were many monkeys in Subic and a whole gang of them greeted us in the morning after. Talk about Animal Planet what those mad chimps did was to fuck right in front of us while we were eating breakfast. What if people were like that just do it whenever and wherever… hahaha

It was a fun trip and would like to do that again. Heads up to all of them for that great vacation, and a much needed one since the week before was the mother off all stresses and I think of this as a reward for surviving through the last school year in DLSU.

//I WANT// Armani Jacket
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 02:52 AM on September 6, 2005

I've been dreaming of buying this jacket these past two days. It's a slick knitted Armani jacket. Usually I would go for Kenneth Cole and DKNY but this jacket is different from the usual.

Armani Exchange Knit

I am a sucker for jackets and that I could tell yah. It's my hobby to collect them. I have  a whole library of jackets from my sporty Nikes, formal Dona Karans to the more elegant Kenneth Cole jacket.  I've been wanting to add an Armani Jacket to my collection and I think its time. Why? Because this jacket is really different from the rest. Aside from being knitted it has this unusual form that I haven't seen yet in the country. And I don't have any brown jackets, yet.

Well the problem is that the price is a whooping 195$. I could conjure up the money but I have other things to buy. Then again I've got that part time job with the telemarketing in La Salle so I think I could buy it.

 Armani Knit 2

There's this other jacket that I like in Armani Exchange. It's the usual classic fitted black jacket but it's nice. I like the white and gray stripes on the sides. But I think the layering of the clothes would be too hot for the country.

Crap, too many things that I want so less money. Oh well gotta make do on what I have.

//Aware// Rant On The Impeachment Hearings
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 06:19 AM on September 6, 2005

Disclamier: Rant Made out of fury against a certain family member who keeps on accusing me as being a communist.

The drama is nearing its climax. The points goes to closer to defeat. I am not talking about UAAP but I am talking about something bigger. The impeachment hearings has been slowly bogging down and finally it will dissepate today.

UNACCEPTABLE

I don't understand how Gloria could lie again; it is for the second time. First was when she lied to the filipinos when she promised not to run  and now she lies again. She said before to bring the complaint to the congress but what are her colleagues doing? They're bastardizing the process; is this really democracy?

I know the arguements of those on the other side of the fence. But what  you are unkowingly doing is not preserving development but maintaining this deadly status quo- a status quo that she effectively maintains through her machine which makes me look back at that fictional governor in the movie Mr Smith Goes To Washington.

I can never accept what is happening right now. Why are the people like this? Why are they so complacent, believing that leaving things alone would make things better. I had enough of our attittude of leaving all responsibilities to one person, thinking that she could manange everything for us. Bah, patronage politics and botty capitalism has made this country plunge deep into depression.

I was supposed to join the rally today but I had a fight with my grandma about this whole issue. I am not an activist but I believe I should do my own part if I want to affect change because Knowing is not enough. Theory in practice is more important than anything else. I can't stand idly by and let things go as they are, atleast I did my part. I won't sacrifice anyone anymore. I need to do something on my own.

And boo to people who believe that supporting Gloria would make things better when in fact it doesn't. I believe if we could only have cenrtainty of punishment in our country then maybe rule of law could really work but right now it doesn't. And what if this whole issue of electoral fraud is not adressed? Then what of the next elections where we would face again the same thing. Another Garci, no reforms in the system of government would change if the people who man it are still the same crooks.

The problem with our country is we never put officials accountable- We let them be. Even in the disaster ridden New Orleans and the Gulf Coast of America what I see is clear lines of accountability. People knew who to pressure, be it the federal government or FEMA and as for us we don't know who to hold accountable. We can't blame anyone and we even find it taboo to blame someone in power. It's like this opposition = destabilization. Yeah right, if you know how democracy really works then a healthy opposition is vital for any democracy. What a fake democracy we have.

I can't stand this anymore. I can't stand people who evade issues. I can't stand people believing that evading issues leads to development. Right now we need to adress this issue of fraud to really know if Gloria stole our god given right of suffrage.

Ah I am tired... I am loosing hope in this country but still hope lingers quietly.  And this is the path I choose to follow it maybe wrong but I believe that inorder to bring order one needs chaos.

r.:LCL:EXPLORER//: Enchanted Trip
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 02:27 PM on September 7, 2005

I am not talking about ecstasy or any drugs for that matter but I just had one enchanting trip. Having just been two days in Subic last weekend I decided to make full use of this one week of stress free-ness (for a lack of a better term). All I wanted was to chill and relax, chillax and what better to do than to go to an enchanting trip.

Ok, the title may sound corny and perhaps right now you should be realizing that this trip that I was talking about is none other than our trip to Enchanted Kingdom. It was a different group of friends from the one in Subic. This was composed of; Roselle, Ge, Kyra, Allan, Paul, Aryan and of course me.(Nico and Pet didn't come)

All was well and I would like to stress that I was on time; 8:50 according to my watch wahahaha. Ok I really was late, a sickness of mine I though I cured but the events that led to that were really coincidences all jumbled up to make me late. Talking about coincidence I saw Estelle's friend in E.K.

E.K in the hot morning is a real scorcher. It was hot as hell and I can’t stand how the sun could torture us like that but despite the heat, all was well. Good company and good music from my bro’s MP3 was all that was needed to make up for the scorching sun. And despite this heat wave in E.K we never let that to stop us from riding every ride in that infernal kingdom.

I loved all the rides most especially the Bumper car and the Logjam. I think I am a bumper car addict. I mean I rode it the most and yearned for it more than anything else, weird you think but I love riding beast with wheels so no one could stop me from my bump car spree. (too bad I didn’t have enough money to go karting) The logjam was one helluva ride and it was my first time to ride it in all my visits in Encantadia. But my pic there looked like I was being crucified in cavalry, damn I looked stupid in the pic and you could really feel how I felt at that time. Someone even commented that I was like the one in titanic, bastard.

Kyra here loved Rio Grande and for that we got wet and wild.. Ok don’t put any sexual innuendos in the word wet but it does make you think… the signage there said; “Warning this ride will make you wet” and you know us guys sometimes those bad things pop first in our minds before anything else.

Another ride that I won't be forgetting is when we rode on that children's train ride. I dared everyone and they all followed. The problem is that the ride was really long and

soon people were flocking near the said ride. We look like a bunch of retards in a children’s train and Roselle even made us look abnormal when she continuously wrang the bell of the main cart of the train. Oh, what the hell do they care! They’re just envious that we had the guts to ride that train from hell, wahahaha.

I was just badtrip that we left at 5:00 but I can’t complain especially because we never paid anything for the transport. So thanks to kyra and his Tito. Ts just sad that we had to leave Encantadia but I know that there are other days to revel in fun so I would look forward to my next trimester break.

Callboy Na Ako
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 12:14 PM on September 9, 2005

Telemarketer na ako!Yeah! Even thouh its just a part time job inside the school but atleast I got in. Out of the 18 hopefulls, five of us got the job. What's even more shocking is that I am the only guy there, all of them are chicks.

I know for a fact that women are better solicitors and males are a bit handicapped on that department so that is why I am so honored to have been chosen because, imagine that in the past years they never took guys in but despite that I was still chosen.

The task is daunting, 20,000 for one term and I hope I could meet that quota.. who knows what will happen but I will relish this sucess for now and excel with this job that I am given.

Kahit maliit lang siya na callcenter sa loob ng DLSU ayus lang dahil nagaaral panaman ako, which means part time call boy na nga ako.

The Chill Out Project
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 01:24 PM on September 12, 2005

You know that feeling when you know you can do something but you're just too lazy to do it. I hate procrastinating but I do it, it sucks big time especially when I have this one goal in my mind; to get inside the next Chill out compilation by Anton Ramos.

I know its a daunting task but up until now I've only got 4 beats to work on and none of them are finished.  To top that I still can't feel them to be good enough- there's something missing in the songs. Perhaps it's the piano roll or the sychronization of the sounds but I am too lazy too fix them. Maybe I need to do benchmarking, I need to set a deadline for this.

My younger brother admiteddly is better than me. He already produced good beats that you'd mistake him for a pro. I am happy for him but it makes me frown that he got the best of me. I know my beats have potential but I need to really work on them. Time to get of this lazy butt of mine... or maybe its not my laziness, perhaps I have just too many things to do.

//Kagaguhan// Ang Mahiwagang Hope Gang
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 02:54 PM on September 12, 2005

(Ang Hope Ice Pick and Hope Frying Pan in stores near you)

to be continued

(Ang naturang pangyayari ay hindi gawagawa at tuwirang katotohanan. The truth is stranger than fiction sabi ni Ripley nga ba?)

Seriously: Maginangat nalang pinapasok nila talaga ang mga bahay kahit sa umaga o hapon kaya wag iwan ang gate na nakabukas.

Lasallite in Search of Tickets
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 11:46 AM on September 14, 2005

Why did I think twice? Last monday I had the chance to buy tickets at Araneta but I wasted that opportunity. I was thinking that my major subjects would not be cancelled but in fact I was wrong.

And now I am in a desperate search for a ticket and would even consider buying from those scalpers yet again. If only I didn't have an 8:00 class then I wouldn't have any trouble buying SRO.

Wish me luck, I know I can find tickets. The problem after that would be who to go along with? I have friends from college, bloackmates and highschool friends who are going to watch the game- I don't want to compromise any of them but..... I need to choose... or maybe I'll do what I did before, I went back and fourth between two groups of friends.

Oh well as my Lola would always say(well before Bro Armin challenged Gloria,)

Lasallite is a good boy

and goodboys are gifted by god, hahahaa

(Now she says, Lasalite is a kaliwete.

//Sports//Dead Eagles Redux
Posted by Revolving_Drum at 01:06 PM on September 15, 2005

The sound in the colloseum was an uneven mixture of feral screams, the beating drums of war and the loud cries of ravenous beasts. Araneta was filled to the brim and the stages of war would soon begin.

The other side held steady their mighty eagle all coloured by the colours of the sea and sky. The Archers coloured in the greenest of jades held on steadfastly on their quivers aiming high at proud eagle.

It was a stalemate at first, the arrows only slashed slightly through the fine feathers of the mighty bird while its claws only made small scratches and bruises on the proud archer.

But the stalemate was to be broken as one arrow pierced the eagle's tighs and it soon led to the barrage of death. The eagle fell and the migthy archer won.

 Game Finished

Hail to De La Salle!

It was a good fight Ateneo. Well, despite our trash talk we still respect you guys.

BTW: I didn't get the  stunt of our pep squad... it was weird. I told my friend that maybe that guy had a heart attack or something then here comes his other pep friends carrying him back. I mean was that for real or just for show.. if its just for show then I really didin't get it.
